Born into a Sinti family, the German violinist Sandro Roy is a thoroughbred musician equally at home in classical, jazz and folk music. A recipient of multiple awards, he is one of the most versatile musicians of his generation. In collaboration with him, we combine Baroque masterpieces with sounds of gypsy music and jazz. Well-known pieces such as Handel’s aria “Lascia ch’io pianga” are on the program as well as the relatively unknown composers Evaristo Felice Dall’Abaco and Giovanni Antonio Pandolfi Mealli. Sensational new compositions and arrangements by Sandro Roy and Massimiliano Toni (l’arte del mondo) are also sure to delight the audience.
